Eastern Shore Raw Honey
Raw Honey is a Gift from Nature
Raw Honey Benefits
There are many associated health benefits with the use of raw honey for human health inside and outside the body. The benefits of raw honey include its historical use for health issues and its retention of beneficial nutrients.
Natural honey is rich in antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals, which help combat oxidative stress and contribute to overall health. Natural, raw honey also contains essential and nonessential amino acids, making it a natural sweetener and a healthier alternative to processed sugar. Additionally, raw honey has anti-inflammatory properties due to the presence of flavonoids and polyphenols.
Replacing sugar and similar ingredients with raw honey in baking is not only healthier for you, but it also tastes better, too! Honey will increase the moisture of your baked goods since it is hygroscopic. Adding raw honey to hot tea with lemon or putting a light drizzle of it on top of yogurt are more ways to enjoy sweet treats guilt-free.
Since raw honey contains bee pollen, research suggests that one of the possible health benefits of local raw honey is that it may aid in lessening seasonal allergy symptoms, since the pollen in the honey is from local flowers. The smooth consistency of honey can also help soothe a sore throat.
Antibacterial properties are another notable benefit to raw honey. This means honey can be effective in wound healing and treating acne. In fact, raw honey has been used in medicine for over 5,000 years.
Most honey in grocery stores is pasteurized honey, which undergoes heat treatment to remove impurities and extend shelf life but also diminishes several beneficial nutrients, such as antioxidants.
While organic honey is often touted for its potential health benefits compared to conventional honey, it is essential to note that an organic label does not guarantee superior quality or health advantages.

Raw honey is a household staple we think everyone should have. You can use it in tea, put it on toast, and even cook and bake with it. One of our favorite ways to cook with honey is to create a thick marinade with it for meats and vegetables.
We bottle our honey by hand in our labs to ensure no other factors are present in our process. Our honey is named based on the types of plants the bees pollinate. The nectar of each plant gathered by honey bees to make honey contains its unique taste, giving us varietal honey.
Varietal Honey
Varietal honey results from honey made from the nectar of predominately one type of plant. Manuka honey, known for its medicinal properties, such as treating acne, wounds, and gastrointestinal diseases, is a prime example. Since we do not add any extra flavors to our honey, it will not taste exactly like the plant it is made from. However, each varietal has its taste, and you will get hints of the plant it was made with.
Prepare to be amazed by the wide selection of varietal honey available. Many of our customers are pleasantly surprised to discover the rich diversity of flavors that honey can offer. Pure honey retains essential nutrients and natural compounds often lost during processing, making it a healthier alternative. Join the honey revolution and experience a world of sweetness with Bee Inspired Eastern Shore Honey.
